Aligning with Brand and Improving User Experience
About
Lumicor manufactures resin panels and wall tiles for architects and designers to enhance spaces with light, color, texture and shapes. As a company, Lumicor is committed to sustainability, social responsibility and community.
Problem Overview
Lumicor was operating a 10-year-old website on Joomla. A website that was mobile-friendly, accessible and optimized for SEO were top priorities for helping Lumicor connect with its customers, grow its business and reflect its core values.
A Practical Solution for Purveyors of Practical Solutions
In person, Lumicor provides innovative and practical solutions for a niche market so it was imperative that the company could do the same on its website. SiteCrafting’s UX research team facilitated a goal setting workshop and leveraged workshop insights to develop a website that improved user experience — internally and externally — and aligned with brand.
Seamless interaction became the project’s North Star. Customized page content, new templates, optimized functional elements and an intuitive content management system were among the practical yet powerful recommendations that moved Lumicor toward a flexible and scalable future.
Modern, Refreshed and Integrated
Updated aesthetics amplify Lumicor’s ethos: innovative, collaborative, enthusiastic and accessible. Condensed webpages simplify navigation and updated terminology makes it easier to categorize and find products and materials. A new filterable Resources section helps people find the documents and videos they are looking for quickly.
With updated design and navigation in place, SiteCrafting’s digital marketing team created an SEO plan to help Lumicor maintain and improve its search engine rankings from the moment the website launched. After launch, pageviews for product pages increased compared to prior to launch — 278% for Kuvio and 802% for Partitions — and overall sessions increased 1,804%.

Features and Functionality for Lead Generation and Product Display
An updated Request a Quote form with improved functionality helps website users share information including application, location and industry. The form also helps the Lumicor team capture and qualify leads. Within the first six weeks of the website launch, pageviews for the Request a Quote page experienced a 1,582% increase in pageviews. An updated Find a Rep page experienced similar success helping accomplish the goal of connecting designers and architects with the Lumicor team.

On the Kuvio wall builder page, users can preview what a wall would look like with Lumicor’s proprietary wall tile by customizing selections for shape, finish and pattern. Our development team also created new functionality for Woocommerce to help people order materials by integrating with Stripe payment processor and Lumicor’s inventory management system.
Multiple Pathways for Inspiration and Sales
Multiple pathways throughout the website provide multiple opportunities for different audiences to connect with Lumicor products, materials, information and the Lumicor team. A new section titled “Get Inspired” provides a showcase of projects and portfolios with filters to customize the page display. Photography takes center stage across the website and makes Lumicor materials shine and brings inspiration to its audiences.
