Supporting the Needs of Growing Health System
About
MultiCare is a not-for-profit healthcare system that has been serving the community since 1882. It’s the largest community-based, locally-governed health system in Washington State. Creating a consistent experience that is easy for multiple audiences to manage and access has been the heart and goal of every project.
Problem Overview
MultiCare is in a steady state of growth and with that comes an evolving need to meet the needs of the people it serves. MultiCare and SiteCrafting have worked together for more than 15 years to develop and design digital experiences for MultiCare and its many departments, specialty clinics, hospitals, urgent care locations, special projects, recruiting, events and foundations.
Research Informs Deep Understanding of Healthcare Consumers
MultiCare’s services, and department locations are unique. As a result, every web project has unique goals, requirements and audiences. More than a decade worth of research and development for healthcare consumers and health system stakeholders provides insight and direction for designing and developing websites that connect people with the information they are looking for and make it easy for internal teams to audit and manage content.
Additionally, the depth and breadth of knowledge SiteCrafting teams have about user behavior on healthcare websites helps inform design and functionality updates that keep MultiCare and its subsidiary websites evolving alongside consumer behavior. Our team has customized our proprietary user insights tool, Sitka Insights, to MultiCare’s evolving needs so web administrators can understand how websites are performing and make updates accordingly.
Consistent Look and Feel Across Multiple Websites and Brands
As MultiCare grows as a health system and extends to new regions and business units, SiteCrafting teams work alongside MultiCare teams to ensure the digital experience across all web properties is consistent and aligns with the organization’s mission, vision and values. By leveraging insights and aligning stakeholder goals with research findings, our teams have created a design system that intersects with MultiCare’s brand strategy and user needs from philanthropy and plastic surgery to community partnerships and Covid-19 resources.
